Waxing

Waxing is hair removal from the root. New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for four to six weeks. It is a long-lasting hair removal method. Areas that are repeatedly waxed over long periods of time often exhibit regrowth that is softer and finer. Almost any area of the body can be waxed.

Before waxing

Firstly make sure your hair is of a good length to be waxed. Ideally, this is about an eighth to a quarter of an inch long (3 to 6mm). Also, don’t apply any of your skin products so as not to interfere with the wax.

After waxing

Redness will appear. This is normal and will disappear after a few hours due to a histamine reaction. It’s important that you keep the waxed area clean. This means no sun bathing for at least 12 hours, no bathing or swimming in a chlorinated pool for 24 hours. Avoid touching the waxed area to ensure it remains bacteria free. Do not apply any topical lotions or any lubricants as it can cause a burning sensation.
